In my case, I'd love to reread Dan Abnett's amazing work for that brand, including Eisenhorn, Ravenor, and the Gaunt's Ghosts novels–but I own them in omnibus print editions. I had the opportunity to read through the first book of Black Library's Eisenhorn Omnibus today, and I have to admit that it makes for an entertaining read. As far as Eisenhorn goes, it's one of the better sci-fi novels I've ever read, forget that it's WH 40k, forget that it's derivative fiction. Havent read any of Gaunt's, hope its not as bad as I hear. It follows an inquisitor through about 300 years. Today you can get them in one big omnibus with two short connecting stories. With his warband he scourges the galaxy in order to root out heresy. I was inspired by the slight derailment of the Star Wars EU thread when we started talking about Warhammer 40K novels, so I'll make a new one just for that topic. The Eisenhorn Omnibus was one of my favorite 40k reads. Dan Abnett is one of my favorite authors now. Those bastards are just north of phone book sized. Summary: My recommended novel for those interested in war games, shows like Band of Brothers, etc., The Founding is the beginning omnibus for the well known Gaunt's Ghosts series.
